Teens, it's an art contest just for you! It's simple: create a piece of art based on a banned book and you could win a $50 gift certificate to Art House Supply & Custom Framing and a banned book of your choice. See ala.org/advocacy/bbooks to find your favorite book for inspiration - or ask a librarian! Entry forms can be picked up at the library, Art Supply House & Custom Framing, or downloaded from the link below. Accepting entries from teens in grades 6-12 from September 1-15, 2022. Art will be on display at The Hive during Banned Books Week, September 17-24, including a special artist reception on Tuesday, September 20th from 6-7 pm. If you have any questions contact Nicole at nicole.burchfield@durangogov.org.
Join us at The Hive's indoor skatepark (1150 Main Ave. Suite A) for a free poetry workshop! Come to write, read, share, or just to listen and enjoy. Writers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join us. Workshop repeats every other Wednesday night.
