Facilities

Fanto Park, 2.98 organically managed acres, was named for Rose Fanto, an influential tavern owner and a generous supporter of charities. Outside of Animas City, it is the oldest park in Durango and the inspiration for the name of Park Elementary School.

This park includes a large grass area, swing-set and playground equipment and is open to the public when school activities are not happening. Contrary to popular belief, this is not an off-leash dog area.
