Durango, CO: Please join City of Durango and Bike Durango on World Day of Remembrance 2023 to remember those who have lost their lives or been impacted by roadway crashes in Durango and surrounding areas. This is a day for community members, advocates, organizations, and local government to gather to commemorate lives who have been affected by traffic violence. This is also an opportunity to raise awareness of the urgent need for safe streets for everyone.
We remember those killed and seriously injured in crashes, support those personally impacted, and act by advocating for and implementing actions to end roadway fatalities and serious injuries.
Everyone can act by being involved in and supporting city projects to improve safety and connectivity for all modes of transportation; by supporting community advocacy groups that provide education for traveling safely and conveniently; and learning how to be a safe driver, pedestrian, and cyclist.
We will meet Sunday, Nov.19 at 11 a.m. at Rotary Park for speeches then a memorial walk and slow ride on the Animas River Trail to Iris park.
