Durango, CO: Colorado Parks and Wildlife is dredging their settling pond, also known as Huck Finn Pond, adjacent to the Animas River Trail and fish hatchery during the months of October and November. The project is to remove organic material from the pond.
Heavy impact to trail users is expected from Oct. 30 to Nov. 8, as dump trucks make several trips back and forth, likely every 15 minutes to remove the debris. Lesser impact to trail users is expected from Nov. 17 – 22.
Traffic control is in place with warning signage and flaggers to alert bicycle and pedestrian traffic of the upcoming work.
The City of Durango thanks you for your patience and cooperation at this time.
