Durango Transit launching evening bus service on October 18

Microtransit

Durango, CO: Durango Transit is excited to announce the upcoming launch of “DuranGO!” evening and nighttime transit service on October 18. Unlike Durango Transit’s other fixed routes, which provide public transportation from dedicated bus stop locations, DuranGO! is an on-demand service that will provide affordable rides from a passenger’s location to their desired location. This app-based pilot program will offer a safe, convenient and flexible transportation option, seven days a week from 8:00 PM to midnight within City limits.

“Expanding Durango Transit’s hours has been one of our highest service priorities for several years,” said Transportation Director Sarah Hill. “Our current schedule is challenging for anyone who works later than 9 pm, or who needs a safe and affordable ride home in the evening. We have worked hard to find an innovative solution to this service gap, and hope that the service is useful to our community.”

Durango Transit was awarded a service expansion grant of $50,000 through the Colorado Department of Transportation to fund the service. The on-demand evening service will supplement Durango Transit’s fixed-route service.

  2. Late Night Hours: DuranGO! will be available seven days a week, with service running from 8:00PM to midnight within City limits.
