The City of Durango’s Parking Division, along with its consultant Walker Consultants, invite the public to an open house at Zia Taqueria, 2977 North Main Ave. on Oct. 20, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. to discuss potential parking strategies and solutions.
Through data analysis and a months-long community outreach phase, Walker Consultants has identified six different parking categories with various strategies to improve parking in Durango. Categories include Parking Demand Management, Communications, Transportation Demand Management, Special Events and Parks, Technology, and Parking Supply.
At the open house, each category will have its own station where members of the public can discuss recommended strategies and share their own opinions.
On Oct. 18 Walker Consultants and city staff will present the same findings to City Council at the council's regularly scheduled study session at 2:15 p.m. The study session can be viewed on Zoom or YouTube, or in person at council chambers.
