The community is invited to attend a presentation at 4:30 p.m. on April 26 at the Durango Community Recreation Center to view conceptual plans for the potential construction of 4-6 pickleball courts at the Smith Sports Complex parking lot at Fort Lewis College. An open house at the recreation center will take place afterward until 6:30 p.m.
“This is the public’s chance to provide input and comments on the concepts prior to the selection of a final concept and the construction plans being developed,” said Parks and Recreation Director Ture Nycum.
Residents unable to attend the in-person meeting can provide feedback through an online survey link on the same web page. Comments will be taken through the website until Monday, May 2 at 5 p.m.
The tentative schedule for the project is to complete design work in the Spring of 2022, secure funding, permits, and go out for bid in the Summer/Fall of 2022 and construct the pickleball courts in the Fall 2022 and Spring of 2023.
