The Durango Public Library’s Advisory Board (LAB) is now accepting nominations for its annual Library Community Champion Award. The mission of this award, according to the LAB, is to recognize that the success of any public library is enhanced and sustained by dedicated citizen volunteers. Nominees will be accepted through June 15, 2022, and the award recipient will be announced in September and honored with a reception sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
“Volunteerism has always been a key ingredient in supporting our remarkable library and staff,” said Bill LeMaire, chair of the LAB. “We’re asking the community to nominate individuals they think have reflected true commitment and achievement through their library volunteerism.”
Previous winners include: Beverly Darmour, Lynne Hardy, Steve Redding, Nancy Peake, Maile Kane, Corrie McCarthy, and Marcia Clouser.
The application process is open through June 15, 2022. Visit the Library’s front desk for a nomination form or find the form on our website.
