[ARCHIVED] Durango Parks and Recreation to open Lake Nighthorse Friday, April 1

Lake Nighthorse Opens April 1

Lake Nighthorse Recreation Area will open for the 2022 season this Friday, April 1. The lake will be open for non-motorized recreation from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, April 1 through May 8. Daily operations will begin May 13, and motorized recreation begins May 15. 

Find full details and purchase season and 5-punch passes at DurangoGov.org/LakeNighthorse. Passes may also be purchased in person at the Durango Community Recreation Center.

“This will be the fifth year Lake Nighthorse has been open for public recreation. Already, it has become a favorite destination for locals and visitors,” said Amy Schwarzbach, natural resources manager. “We look forward to another fantastic season.” 

Seasonal cashier, boat inspector/lake maintenance and lifeguard positions are available. To apply, visit DurangoGov.org/Jobs.
