The City of Durango’s Engineering Division will host classes this April on stormwater management. Classes will help participants understand the regulations and responsibilities on a construction site.
The first class, Stormwater Management and Erosion Control, will take place April 5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The course is an introductory course based on the General Construction Permits under the Colorado Discharge Permitting System and will go over best management practices for the control of stormwater run-off, pollutants, erosion, and sedimentation at construction sites.
The second class, Qualified Stormwater Manager, will be held April 6 and April 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a two-day intermediate training program to prepare a Qualified Stormwater Manager to handle all aspects of the Stormwater Management Plan in daily site operations. A Qualified Stormwater Manager certificate through Red Rocks Community College can be obtained after completion of this course. This class also includes a field trip to an active construction site.
Courses will be held virtually and cost $100 per class. To register, call the Engineering Division at (970) 375-4810 or e-mail heather.wachter@durangogov.org or find registration forms online. Please register before March 28.
