Partial closure of parking lot at Santa Rita Park starts June 7

Parks and Recreation News Release image

Beginning Monday, June 7 the central parking lot at Santa Rita Park will be closed due to site construction activity. The parking lot will be closed for the duration of construction through early November. All other parking will be open to the public, including parking located north of the playing field and adjacent to the playground. See the full news release for a map showing the closed parking area.

The construction project will replace two lighted sand volleyball courts, a lighted basketball court and picnic shelter that were displaced during the development of the Santa Rita Water Reclamation Facility. Parking improvements will also occur to address degraded asphalt surfacing.

“This temporary disturbance to public use of the park will enable completion of the missing court and park amenities at Santa Rita,” Assistant Parks Director Scott McClain said.
