Durango Public Library is promoting early literacy by providing a free picture book to every four-year-old in Durango October 13 through October 24, while supplies last. The free books are part of the One Book Colorado program.
Beginning October 13, families of four-year-olds can stop by the Durango Public Library to pick up a free book in English or Spanish. The building will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Families may stop in during these hours or arrange for curbside pick-up Tuesdays through Saturdays, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Please call (970) 375-3380 or email reference@DurangoGov.org to make curbside arrangements.
This year’s One Book Colorado finalists are: The Greatest Adventure by Tony Piedra, The Little Red Fort by Brenda Maier, and The Very Impatient Caterpillar by Russ Burach. The winning book will be announced and available to families throughout the state on October 13.
