Our doors may be closed, but we are providing services! Operating Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-4pm, curbside pick-up of materials is proving to be very popular. You can access it 3 ways: by visiting our catalog, signing into “My Account” and requesting items online; emailing us at reference@durangogov.org; or calling 970-375-3380. You can also call us during those hours with your questions, and you can drop off your unique items that don’t fit into the materials return, such as games and ukuleles.
Speaking of returning your materials, you can place them in our manual return, located under the drive-up canopy on the south side of the building. We quarantine all returned materials for 4 days on their return, so we cannot use the automated system. Please note that your items won’t get checked in for at least 3 days. We have eliminated late fees so don’t worry about it if they are still on your record for the next week.
Free eBooks and eAudiobooks are available through Overdrive/Libby. Just download the app, enter your library card information and you are ready to go! If you don’t have a library card but live in La Plata County, you can sign up for an Instant Digital Card with your mobile number.
Online databases are great free resources you can use with your library card. From fixing your car or lawn mower to learning a new language, our databases are a fantastic place to learn something new!
Missing storytime? Miss Callie has uploaded some videos for you to enjoy! Check out the City’s YouTube page and look for our virtual storytimes.
Finally, you can access free WiFi outside of the building 7 days a week from 6am-10pm. Use the profile of Library Guest, and while there is no password you will be asked to agree to our terms in your browser.
Enjoy, and stay well!
