The Durango Public Library successfully migrated to the new Integrated Library System on April 30. The website for the new catalog is https://durango.ent.sirsi.net/.
When patrons log into their account, their PIN will be the last 4 digits of their library card number. Once logged in, they can update their PIN and other information such as email and phone number and sign up to receive text message notifications when materials on hold are available. They can also check out eBooks and eAudiobooks directly from the catalog.
Once the Library returns to providing direct services to the public, staff will announce new and enhanced features to provide more convenient library experiences. All materials on hold that were not picked up prior to March 26 are still on the hold shelf, and due dates for materials have been extended throughout June.
Safer at Home guidelines urge community members to continue to stay home as much as possible. The Library remains closed to the public, operating with a reduced workforce until all safeguards are in place to protect the staff and patrons. Patrons are asked to not return materials to the Library until Monday, May 4 or later, unless they will be leaving the area for an extended period or are moving elsewhere. Returning materials slowly over time will help with the need to quarantine materials before reshelving and allow the Library to rebuild staffing to handle returned items.
