The community has expressed interest in learning more about the planned Animas River Trail pedestrian bridge project. Community members will have an opportunity to ask questions about the project – which will involve an overpass over 32nd Street and the railroad tracks, and a bridge over the river – during a series of meetings this month. The Parks and Recreation Department design team will present accurate details about the bridge and hear community members’ concerns at the following public meetings:
- February 12: Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Meeting, 5 p.m. at the Recreation Center, 2700 N. Main Avenue.
- February 18: City Council Meeting, 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 949 E. 2nd Avenue.
- February 26: Multimodal Advisory Board Meeting, 4:00 p.m. at City Hall.
- February 27: Community Meeting, 5:00 p.m. at the Recreation Center.
Community members who are interested in this project are encouraged to attend a meeting. For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (970) 375-7321 or rec@DurangoGov.org. For more information about the ART North Extension project, visit DurangoGov.org/artnorth.
