On Wednesday, November 20 the Natural Lands Preservation Advisory Board, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and Multimodal Advisory Board will hold a study session followed by a regular meeting concerning Electric Bicycles (E-bikes) on City of Durango natural surface trails. The public meetings will be held at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Avenue.
The Joint Advisory Board study session will begin at 5:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public, but no public comments will be accepted. The regular Joint Advisory Board meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m., at which point the public may comment on the issue of E-bikes on natural surface trails within City open space.
Currently, E-bikes are not permitted on City natural surface trails. However, Class I and Class II E-bikes are allowed on City hard surface trails, including the Animas River Trail, Florida Road Trail, Goeglein Gulch Road Trail, SMART 160 Trail and the Three Springs Trail.
