City of Durango Receives 40th Tree City USA Award

Tree City USA is an Arbor Day Foundation program that has been greening up cities and towns across America since 1976. It is a nationwide movement that provides the framework necessary for communities to manage and expand their public trees.

The City of Durango is among more than 3,400 communities that have made the commitment to becoming a Tree City USA.

The Forestry Division maintains approximately 7,340 urban trees and regularly plants adaptable trees to attain a diverse and healthy urban forest.
