Board Overview
The purpose of the Land Use & Development Code Board of Adjustment is to hear and decide appeals for a waiver or variance from provisions or requirements of zoning districts, as set forth in Article 4 of the Land Use and Development Code (LUDC). Section 12-1 of the LUDC should be consulted for more information on Board of Adjustment jurisdiction and processes.
The board also considers applications, applicant's comments, and comments at a hearing, and then evaluates and approves or denies the application. Hearings are typically held in Council Chambers, located at: 949 East Second Avenue

Guidelines include the selection of members who are knowledgeable about the community, who practice in fields of architecture, landscaping, engineering, construction, real estate, or finance, who are business or property owners, and/or who collectively offer a range of expertise that will contribute to informed decision making.
