Olivier Bosmans first moved to Durango in 2005. He has three children that were all born here and attend the public schools. They love Durango and its community, and enjoy all the activities year round, such as skiing, paddle boarding, mountain biking, and hiking.
His educational background includes an Engineering degree from the Netherlands and an MBA degree in Germany. He is multilingual and well-traveled. Olivier has been an international project manager and environmental consultant for over 20 years and has his own business. He has successfully managed large projects for multinational corporations and collaborated with many different stakeholders.
He enjoyed serving on the La Plata county Planning Commission and the Board of Adjustment and working alongside all the professional people in the various county offices, as well as with the people in the county itself such as the farmers/ranchers and families that have been here for many generations. They are the backbone of where this community comes from and play such a vital role in where we are heading.
Olivier brings hands-on experience and energy, and will focus on keeping and expanding Durango’s unique identity on aspects such as quality of life, environmental matters and sustainability, diversity, top notch recreation, arts and culture events, etc. He is honored to be elected on the City Council and the provided trust and looks forward to working with his colleagues on the Council and serving all residents.
