Change of Name or Billing Address
Utility customers who wish to inquire about their account or change the name, address or other information about an existing account, should call the Finance Department at 375-5034.

Ordinance No. O-2006-34
Effective January 1, 2007

The city of Durango utility bill reflects water usage in thousands of gallons. If the bill has a 12 in the box titled "Water Usage", then 12,000 gallons was used during that month. For a residential customer, the water usage charge for 12,000 gallons would be calculated as follows:

The winter schedule of rates for industrial and commercial water users shall apply generally to water used during the months of September through April and the summer rate schedule shall be applied generally to water used during the months of May through August.

The billing cycles using the winter schedule of rates shall include all water usage billed on the October statement through the May statement. Billing cycles using the summer schedule of water rates shall include all water usage as billed on the June through September statements.

The emergency drought surcharge in addition to those rates in effect at the time of the declaration shall be applied during periods when the City Manager shall determine, and which shall be confirmed by the City Council at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Durango City Council after declaration.

SEWER RATES

Effective January 1, 2006

Residential sewer bills are based on water consumption during January. If a residential account has not established a consumption level during January or February, the monthly volume charge shall be the average charge of all other residential customers.
