Electronics recycling

Cathode ray tubes (CRT’s) and circuit boards found in computers and televisions contain significant amounts of lead, chromium, silver and many other toxic materials! Recycling electronics keeps hazardous materials out of our area landfills!

The City of Durango sponsors two 2-day Electronics Recycling Events semi-annually, in Spring and Fall. The events are held at:

Durango Recycling Center
710 Tech Center Drive
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The next event will be held November 14 and 15, 2008.

Electronics will not be accepted at the Recycling Center outside of the collection events.

All types of computer components and televisions are accepted from residents, businesses, governments and schools. Businesses, governments and schools are required by state lawLeave This Site Icon to safely dispose of hazardous wastes.

If you are bringing large quantities of electronics, please call ahead and bring a list of what you’re bringing. This will save time at the event.

Large office equipment (copier, all-in-one, plotter, etc.) $ 0.25/lb
Keyboard, mouse, cables, power cords, etc. No Charge
Other electronics (cell phone, digital camera, camcorder, CD player, Gameboy, etc.) No Charge
Inkjet cartridge, laptop battery or cell phone battery No Charge

Rechargeable battery and cell phones are also accepted for recycling year-round at locations throughout the community.
