Household batteries
The City of Durango and La Plata County have joined forces to offer household battery recycling opportunities around the county.
Single-use alkaline batteries are the most common household battery and include AAA, AA, C, D and 9-volt. Collection containers for these batteries and button batteries are now available in the following locations:

- Nature’s Oasis (1123 Camino Del Rio)
- Kroegers Ace Hardware ( 8 Town Plaza)
- Office Depot (331 S. Camino Del Rio)
- Wal-Mart (1155 S. Camino Del Rio)
- Needham Elementary School (2455 W 3rd Ave.)
- Riverview Elementary School (2900 Mesa Ave.)
