Residents
must have resided within La Plata County for a minimum
of
6 months. Residency may be documented by a driver’s
license, voter registration card, or a copy of
a lease or utility bill. Prior to a scholarship
approval, a
scholarship form must be submitted that includes
verification of being on a financial assistance
program along with
50% of the program registration and/or facility
admission cost.
Upon approval, participants are eligible for no more
than $200 per household in scholarship funds for programs
or facility admissions annually. If an individual registers
for additional programs beyond the scholarship guidelines,
full payment will be required for those additional programs
at the time of registration. All requests for scholarships
will be handled on an individual basis by the Parks and
Recreation Administrative Office. One scholarship form
is required on an annual basis. County scholarship requests
are administered by the City and reimbursed by La Plata
County. City resident scholarships are reimbursed by
the City of Durango.
Scholarship Exemptions
All team-fee programs require full payment and are not
eligible for scholarships.
Payments Accepted
Cash, Check, Money Order and Credit Cards are accepted.
Payment plans are not permitted.
