THE RECREATION DIVISION offers a wide variety of
recreational, athletic and leisure activities for all age
groups in Durango and La Plata County. Some of the Recreation
Division's facilities include a small in-town ski hill,
a full-size ice and roller hockey rink, a community recreation
center with numerous indoor amenities, a softball complex,
and the Mason Center with classroom and gymnasium space.
Programs
vary seasonally and are described in a quarterly Activity
Guide which is distributed to Durango area residents
in February, May, August and November. Some of the 130+
programs offered each year include aerobics, arts/crafts,
baseball, basketball, biking, chess, cooking, dance, diving,
gymnastics, horsemanship, kayaking, rafting, skiing, snowboarding,
soccer, softball, summer daycare, swimming, tennis, trail
trekking and volleyball. For more information about the
