Renewals
You may renew library materials, except for the following items
which may not be renewed:
- 14-day materials
- Adult new books
- Items on hold
- Interlibrary loan materials
- CD-ROM software
- Any item which has been previously renewed
Renewals may be done in person, by telephone, or
online. You will be asked to enter your name and library
card number to access your library account. Books and audio
materials are renewed once for 21 days from the date of renewal,
and videos and DVDs are renewed once for 5 days from the date
of renewal.
Holds
If the item you wish to borrow is not on the shelf, you may
reserve it by placing a hold.This can be done in person, on
the phone or using the online
catalog. Overdue, lost, damaged materials
- Fines are assessed on overdue materials.
- Charges for items returned damaged will depend upon the
extent of the damage.
- Lost-item charges will be billed at cost of replacement
plus a service charge.
CHILDREN'S SERVICES
The Children's Department is located
on the lower level of the library. It offers a variety
of resources and information to meet the needs of young
readers. Young readers will find
a variety of book collections, magazines, audio books,
puppets and computers with educational software.
Preschool Storytime for
3-5 year olds on Wednesday mornings at 10:30.
Parent/Toddler Storytime: Two 4-week sessions per
year. Summer Reading Program held each summer for six weeks.
Group Tours may be scheduled in advance.
Special Storytimes may be scheduled in advance.
Book lists and bibliographies on specific topics
are available.
SERVICES
Reference: provides information on any subject. Reference
services are provided in person, over the phone or you can
email your reference
question to reference@ci.durango.co.us. Please allow adequate
time for a librarian to research and respond to your email. Interlibrary Loan: this service augments our local
collection by borrowing material for you from other libraries.
Copy Machines: a copy machines is available for use
by the public for a nominal fee.
Public Computers: computers
are available for word processing and Internet access.
Computer-Based Classes: The
Library offers basic computer classes. Class topics include,
but are not limited to:
- Using
the Library Catalog
- Basic
Internet Skills
- Researching
Reference Resources
BOOK DROP A book drop is located on the right hand side of the entrance
doors. This drop is open 24 hours a day for your convenience.
Please do not place audio, cassettes, compact discs, videos
or DVDs in the drop.
