Recycled Mulch

The City of Durango sells recycled wood & glass Mulch.

Wood Mulch:

Is created from Spring and Fall cleanups and Christmas tree collections. The average size of a wood chip is about 3 inches.

Glass mulch:

Is made from green and clear glass recycled at the Durango Recycling Center, and comes in both 3/8" (similar to pea gravel) and sand.

• glass mulch is safe to handle
• has a light green sparkly appearance
• beautiful in landscaping
• alternative to pea gravel
• sand is great for stucco or wherever sand is used

Prices per cubic yard:

• Wood mulch - $10
• Pulverized glass - $10

Prepayment must be made at:

River City Hall, 1235 Camino del Rio
7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday

Residents may pick up small quantities of mulch at:

Durango Recycling Center
710 Tech Center Dr

Mulch may be loaded:

Monday through Friday (9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)

Saturday (10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.)

Please bring your receipt!

Delivery:

Mulch will be delivered in 10 cubic-yard truckload quantities within La Plata County.

• $50 delivery charge within City limits plus cost of mulch
• Additional charge of $4 per loaded mile outside of Durango's municipal limits
• Mulch deliveries are made on Fridays only.

Free wood mulch is available at the Bayfield Convenience Center located on County Road 223. For information regarding the hours of operation, call 382-6200.
