Bayfield Bayfield has curbside pickup on Thursday, January 5, 2012 and Thursday January 12, 2012 by Transit Waste.  Please have trees outside by 7:00 AM for removal. Trees must be free from ornaments, tinsel, and other decorations. For more information, please call Bayfield Town Hall at 884-9545.
Unincorporated La Plata County: La Plata County is accepting Christmas trees at a drop-off location at the intersection of Highway 160 and C.R. 141 (Wildcat Canyon Rd) beginning December 26, 2011 and running through January 27, 2012.

For the public's convenience, designated tree drop-off sites are open from December 26, 2011 through January 31, 2012.

  • Trees are chipped into mulch that is made available to local residents.

  • All Christmas trees must be cleaned of all decorations including ornaments, tinsel, garland, bows, etc.

  • Only natural Christmas trees, wreaths and boughs are accepted.

  • Please do not deposit trash at the Christmas tree drop-off sites. Trees commingled with refuse renders them unusable for mulch.
