Indoor 1000 Mile Club

Chart your progress as you work towards 1,000 miles of activity.This self-directed fitness program can help you reach your health/fitness goals by walking, jogging, swimming, bicycling, climbing and using cardiovascular fitness equipment (any combination may be used) at the Recreation Center. Pick up a log sheet at the front desk.

When you have completed your 1,000 miles, you will receive a free T-shirt.

 Use the following ratios
to reach your goal:
Walking or running on the track 1 mile = 1 mile towards goal
Swimming 1 mile = 4 miles towards goal
Current Channel 48 laps = 1 mile towards goal
Bicycling 4 miles = 1 mile towards goal
Climbing Wall 22 times (660 feet) = 1 mile towards goal
Cardiovascular Equipment 1 mile = 1 mile towards goal


Independent Lap and Fitness Swim

Workouts for all different fitness levels have been posted in the aquatics area near the lap pool for public use. You are invited to take a workout to your lap lane to help you conduct an individualized workout suited to your ability and fitness level.

Need some help? Ask the Head Lifeguard, who will be happy to explain the system.

A community Lap Swim Mileage Chart is also posted to track swimming distances.
