Patrol Bureau

The majority of the Durango Police Department members are assigned to the Patrol Bureau. 

• Officers protect and serve the public 24 hours a day by actively and randomly patrolling residential districts and local business areas.
• The patrol officers respond to a wide variety of calls received through Central Communications and civilian contacts.
• Officers enforce traffic regulations and receive specialized training in D.U.I. (Driving Under the Influence) detection in an effort to improve highway safety.
• The Department maintains a Tactical Team as a resource to the Patrol Bureau. The Team is trained to manage incidents which are beyond the scope of normal operations and to supplement other departmental resources.
