 The Operations Division is comprised of the Patrol Bureau.  

 ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

The general administration of the Police Department is vested in the Chief of Police, the executive officer of the Department, with full authority over the organization.  In day-to-day operations, authority and responsibility are delegated to the various parts of the Police Department via a chain of command. 

The order of authority by rank designation:

Chief of Police

Captain

Lieutenant

Sergeant

Corporal

Officer

Currently, the Durango Police Department has fifty-eight sworn peace officers and twevle civilians assigned to either the Support Services Division or Operations Division.
