Animas River Trail - Mall Corner Chapman Hill Storage

Animas River Trail

  • Mall Corner

The development of the Animas River Trail section between the Durango Mall and Durango Harley Davidson is currently underway with Weeminuche Construction. Funding for the trail construction is provided by the City of Durango, Colorado Department of Transportation and Great Outdoors Colorado. This 1,010 linear foot trail segment is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2012.

Chapman Hill

  • Storage Building

A 40 x 60 foot storage building is being constructed by Kennebec Construction at Chapman Hill to house the ski hill snowcat and snowmaking equipment. This building is scheduled for completion in Winter 2011.

Fort Lewis College

  • Multi-Use Fields

The City in partnership with Fort Lewis College and with assistance from Great Outdoors Colorado grant funds is building a multi-use field complex at Fort Lewis College. Durango Youth Soccer Association, Durango Lacrosse, Hillcrest Golf Club and Southwest Colorado Youth Football Association have provided additional funding for the construction of the sports field complex. The project is currently under construction by FCI Constructors and is scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2012.
