The City of Durango is studying design standards for infill development within several established residential
neighborhoods. The process includes active public participation in a series of workshops. In these workshops
participants will define and/or comment on:

• issues and assets related to current building trends within these neighborhoods
• visual models that illustrate the potential build-out of existing and potential regulations
• an outline of design standards that will establish a clear set of expectations for building within these neighborhoods

Workshop #1 - January 13, 2005
The goal of this evening workshop is to solicit public input regarding design issues within the neighborhood.
The workshop will include an exercise that will allow participants to express ideas and concerns individually
and as a group. The results of this workshop will be found in a summary paper that will be posted on the city's
web site later in the month.

Workshop #2 - March 3, 2005
The goal of this evening workshop will be to present the initial modeling scenarios. This will include models
that define the existing character and permitted building envelop, it will also include models of design alternatives.
This new set of modeling alternatives will respond to issues identified in the first workshop. Community
comment on these models will be the focus of this workshop. This information will then be used to develop
the initial draft of the design standards.

Workshop #3 - April 11, 2005
The goal of this evening workshop is to present Draft #1 and to solicit feedback regarding proposed design
standards for the neighborhoods. The workshop will be interactive and will allow participants to comment on
the document

Workshop #4 - The exact date to be announced
The goal of this evening workshop is to present the final draft language for modified development standards.
