Natural Surface Trails
DUE TO EXTREME FIRE RISK ALL CITY OPEN SPACE AND NATURAL SURFACE TRAILS ARE CLOSED until further notice, in accordance with emergency ordinance 2018-13, violations are subject to fines of up to $2,650 and 1 year in jail.

Durango's natural-surface trail system offers opportunities for mountain biking and running, or for nature enthusiasts and dog walkers.  Dalla Mountain Park, Horse Gulch, Twin Buttes and Overend Mountain Park are part of this extensive trail system. Trail user desires have evolved and the Parks and Recreation Department welcomes input from the community on enhancements to the existing trail system.  Please contact the Department at (970) 375-7321 or by email  to discuss trail opportunities.
