Bus stops are serviced every 30 minutes on all routes, except the Main Avenue Trolley which runs on 20 minute headways, and the Evening and Weekend routes which run on one hour headways.

Low Income Transit Pass Available to Eligible Applicants

The City of Durango is now accepting applications for the Low Income Transit Pass program. Applicants with a total household income in 2016 of $35,030 or in 2017 of $36,650 or less may qualify for the Low Income Transit Pass.

Standard monthly Transit passes are $30 per month ($20 for a Youth, Senior or Disabled pass). The Low Income Transit Pass program allows qualified applicants to purchase monthly passes at a reduced rate of $20 per month for a standard pass and $15 a month for a Youth, Senior or Disabled pass. Only one application is required per household. If approved, all household members listed on the application will be eligible for a Low Income Transit Pass.

Applications are available only at the Transit Center ticket window located at 250 West 8th Street (M-F 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Please click here for the 2017 Low Income Application and instructions. 

Rider Rules

  • Keep cell phone conversations to a low volume
  • Show the driver your pass each time you board
  • Shirts and shoes are required
  • Refrain from putting feet on the seats
  • Profanity will not be tolerated
  • All water craft must be deflated before boarding the vehicle

Bike Racks
All Durango Transit buses are equipped with bike racks, which hold two bikes. Bike racks are offered upon space availability.

Animas River Trail Connections
To access Durango's Animas River Trail, walk west from the Durango Transit center (250 W. 8th Street) toward Albertson's and the Animas River. The trail can also be accessed from 9th Street, the Recreation Center, Mercury Payment Systems, Wal-Mart and North City Market. Ask any of the bus drivers and they will send you in the right direction.
