Whinney and Friends sculptureThe public art collection is displayed around Durango in open city-owned areas, inside city-owned facilities, or in areas designed as public areas. View the public art collection map.

Art donations are encouraged and welcomed. Each donation is considered individually and can be permanent or on a long-term basis.

Proposals for donations will be forwarded to the PAC for review. The PAC may form a subcommittee for additional review. For more detailed information, please refer to the Public Art Master Plan.

Art on Loan
Art on Loan is a program of the city's PAC that features sculptures in a biannually rotating collection of pieces, which are offered for purchase. The sculptures are displayed along the Animas River Trail and various locations in town.

Animas River Trail
The City of Durango also offers art along the Animas River Trail for those who walk, bike, raft, and tour along the Animas River Greenway. Please refer to the Animas Art Master Plan for more detailed information.

Public Art Maintenance
The City of Durango owns several art pieces. From time to time these pieces need to be cleaned or maintained. These cleanups are usually scheduled once or twice a year. Your help in this area would be greatly appreciated.
