The Outdoor Bistro Dining program is managed by the Community Development Department. The intent of the program is to provide added vitality to the downtown experience and provide the establishment opportunity to enhance sales. Outdoor Bistro Dining is acceptable when it is, 1) compatible with Downtown codes and ordinances, 2) positively received by the public and neighboring business operators, 3) operated and managed in a safe and secure manner, and 4) is an appropriate, positive, and complimentary addition to the downtown experience.

Durango Public Library Business Resource

Special Events
The City of Durango Parks & Recreation Department takes the lead coordinating several community special events within the Central Business District and the entirety of the City. Inquiries regarding functions on City property such as races, parades, park usage, festivals and events involving permits and street closures can directed to Mike Kelly at .

The City of Durango has contracted for special events services such as the 4th of July and the Labor Day Weekend Motorcycle Rally with the Business Improvement District (BID). These events are permitted by the City of Durango, however, programs are organized by the BID. Please direct all inquiries regarding these events or event sponsorship to Tim Walsworth at .

Vending Days
The City of Durango Code of Ordinances prohibits retail vending within the Central Business District except on days designed for retail vending on a calendar developed and presented on an annual basis for Council approval.
