Community Support Funding
The City of Durango provides Community Support funding each year to local nonprofit organizations.  To be eligible to apply for funding, you must:
  • Be a local IRS-certified non-profit organization in good standing
  • Provide programs and/or services to City residents
  • Be able to demonstrate good financial management

In addition:
  • Agency should not already receive funding from the City for the same program through another mechanism or other block grant
  • Funding request should be consistent with City Council goals
  • Request should be for block grant type funding
  • Funding requests for operations will not be considered

Administrative costs will be allowed as part of the block grant as follows:
  • Less than $5,000 No administrative costs
  • $5,000-$9,999 Up to $1,000 allowed
  • $10,000-$50,000           Up to $5,000 allowed
  • $50,001+                     Up to $5,000 + 5% of block grant amount allowed

Micro grants:
  • Provides a 50% match up to $1,000 for a start-up (pilot) non-profit program
  • Must meet eligibility and other requirements
  • There will be a maximum of three grants awarded each year
  • Funding is limited to two years (must apply each year)

September 13th                           City Manager Submits Recommended 2017 Budget to City Council
October 11th                                 Presentation to City Council (4 – 6 p.m.)
December 1st                               Budget Adoption
