In conjunction with Winter Bike to Work Day on Friday, February 23, the City of Durango is once again hosting the Winter Business Commuter Challenge f
rom Monday, February 19 through Friday, February 23, 2018. The Business Commuter Challenge is a friendly competition among local businesses to see who can walk, wheel, bike, e-bike, bus or carpool the most during the week leading up to Winter Bike to Work Day from Monday, February 19 through Friday, February 23.

RussellTo win, your organization needs to earn the most points (by riding the bus, biking, walking and carpooling more than other like-sized businesses) and to accrue a high participation percentage. Each one-way commute earns your organization one point! The winner will earn the traveling Snowflake Trophy, currently held by the 2017 winner, Russell Planning & Engineering.

Please note that Monday, February 19 is Presidents' Day and many companies will be taking the day off. Therefore eligible trips will include work commutes, social outings, errands and appointments that are made by walking, wheeling, biking, e-biking, riding the bus or carpooling. Please do not include recreational bike rides, hikes or runs for exercise.

To sign up for the 2018 Winter Business Commuter Challenge, please email or call (970) 375-4955 no later than Friday, February 16. Once your organization has signed up for the Challenge, you will receive further details and materials.
