Gametime / Childcare
A variety of childcare programs are provided by the City Parks and Recreation Department including Gametime and daycare activities at the Durango Community Recreation Center.

Afterschool Gametime
Children are kept active and entertained in a safe, supervised environment. This after-school program runs Monday through Friday. Limited transportation is provided from Needham, Park and Riverview Elementary Schools to the Durango Community Recreation Center. Children are picked up at the Recreation Center by 6:00 pm. Weekly schedules are handed out so parents and kids will know what to expect. Swim Days are Mondays.

Kids Days
No school? No worries! When the kids are out of school, check out our popular all day "Kids Days" program. The program offers a lot of supervised games, field trips, and activities to keep your child(ren) safe, happy, and entertained.

No Kids days till the 2017 - 2018 School year starts

Summer Gametime
The Durango Parks and Recreation offers an all day program for school aged youth. Parents may register their child for specific days, weeks or entire months. Children will play games, create arts and craft projects, go swimming, take field trips, and much more. Children must have: a sack lunch, sunscreen, bug spray, swim wear, towel, and rain gear for each day. Occasionally, children will go on a field trip or tour that will require a small supplemental fee. Weekly schedules are given out for easy transition between summer Gametime and your child's other activities.

2017 Summer Gametime Parent Packet - Must be read by the Parent or Guardian before Child's first day of Summer Gametime.

Required paperwork to attend Gametime:   Please remember to turn in an updated immunization records and a recent photo of your child.

Kids Club
The Durango Community Recreation Center offers childcare for infants and children up to 9 years old for $2.50 per hour up to a maximum of two hours, so parents may enjoy the recreation facility.
  • Monday - Friday
    8:00 am - 1:00 pm
    4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
  • Saturday
    8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Parent's Night Out
The Durango Community Recreation Center offers a special program just for kids aged 4 to 10 so adults can go see a movie, go out to dinner, or just have time alone. See the current brochure for the Friday evenings that are offered.
