Transit Center
Durango Transit Center buildingAbout the Transit Center
The City of Durango Intermodal Transit Center opened in August 2009. The 8,000 sq. ft., $4 million building is the largest of its kind in the Southwest. The Transit Center is the home to Durango Transit, the City of Durango Parking Department, and the Multi Modal Department and will act as a regional hub for public transportation, including Durango Transit, Ignacio Road Runner, and Durango Mountain Resort.

The facility is LEED Certified and houses covered bike parking for approximately 100 bicycles. The Transit Center was funded with Colorado State Transportation dollars and built on land donated from the City of Durango. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on August 18, 2008.

Parking
The Car Park West parking lot adjacent to the Transit Center on the 700 block of Camino del Rio hosts 131 parking spaces. Parking is free on holidays and weekends and M-F between the night hours of 5 pm and 7 am; a monthly permit is required Monday-Friday between 7 am and 5 pm for most spaces with some daytime metered spaces available.

There are six electric vehicle (EV) charging stations located on the east side of this lot. The hourly rate for charging is $1.80 payable via prepaid Charge Point card (available at Transit Center parking office), credit card, and Charge Point smartphone app.
