A relatively recent addition to the City, the Department of Sustainable Services was created in January of 2009 to help make Durango greener.

Although many of our programs will look familiar to you, we are in the process of expanding our existing services and developing new and exciting programs to help keep Durango a beautiful place.

Did you know that much of the trash generated by community members and businesses can be recycled? Recycling helps keep disposal costs down while preserving natural resources and protecting our air, soil and groundwater. The Department of Sustainable Services is committed to helping maintain a healthy environment in Durango for future generations.
