Ron LeBlanc Biography
Ron LeBlanc, Durango’s City Manager since 2008, has 40 years’ experience managing cities across the nation. He began his career at the City of Arvada, Colorado as Deputy City Manager and served as city manager of Springfield, Oregon; Olathe, Kansas; Groton, Connecticut; and Ketchum, Idaho before coming to Durango.

Ron earned a BA with a double major (Political Science and Psychology) from Boston College and an MPA from the University of Colorado-Boulder. He is currently President-elect of the Colorado City County Managers Association and has previously served as president of professional city management associations in Connecticut and Idaho. Ron has earned the designation of Credentialed Manager (CM) by The International City County Management Association (ICMA).

In 2016, LeBlanc received the first “Trailblazer Award” from Colorado Women Leading Government (CWLG), Emerging Leaders in Local Government (ELGL) and the Colorado City/County Management Association (CCCMA) in recognition of his efforts and accomplishments to create opportunities for women in local government. Ron also received the prestigious Leo Riethmayer Award from the School of Public Affairs at CU-Denver as the “Colorado Public Administrator of the Year” for the state of Colorado in 2016. Ron is also a member of the adjunct faculty at CU-Denver, teaching Leadership and Ethics.
