Biography

Doug graduated from Fort Lewis College in 1987 with a degree in Accounting and holds a Masters in International Management from Thunderbird. He also holds a Ph.D. in Management Strategy from the University of Kentucky. After a several years in San Francisco and Kentucky, he returned to Durango to fulfill his passion, teaching the students of his Alma Mater at Fort Lewis College.

Elected to the Durango City Council in April of 2005, Doug served on the City of Durango Planning Commission and the Finance Advisory Board prior to being elected. He is a past treasurer of Operation Healthy Communities, and Doug and his wife, Chris, are members of First Presbyterian Church. When Doug is not teaching or working on City Council matters, he enjoys hiking and biking with Chris and their two children, as well as just spending time together as a family.
