Design Review Board

The purpose of the Design Review Board is to review sign variances, sign designs inside the Central Business District, and exterior changes to buildings in the CBD for the improvement and enhancement of the overall appearance and atmosphere of the CBD and the Riverfront Overlay Zone by reviewing architecture and design features associated with new development, redevelopment, renovation, signage, street graphics and street furniture.

Number of Board Members:	Seven (one alternate-optional)
Length of Term:	One Year
Council Liaison:	None
Special Requirements:	The guidelines shall include the selection of an architect; one professional designer or graphic artist; one CBD business owner; one out-CBD business owner; three at-large members. Council  will give strong preference to city residents.
Regular Meeting Time:	Second Monday at 3:15 p.m. at City Hall in the Council Chambers

 

Complete submittals are required to be turned in at least two weeks prior to the meeting at which the submittal is to be heard.

The Design Review Board is authorized to:

Consider and decide an appeal regarding Sign Standards and Procedures.

Consider comprehensive sign programs.

Review plans for construction, renovation, alteration, expansion or extension of structures in the  CBD River District or Downtown Design Overlay District.

Review plans for commercial developments for conformance with the Commercial Use Design Guidelines.
