The City of Durango’s Youth Engagement Program is currently accepting applications for positions on the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Commission and nine other boards and commissions through Wednesday, May 22nd. The Youth Engagement Program, comprised of Durango area high schoolers, works with the mayor on youth-based issues in the community.
“The Youth Engagement Program has had an incredibly successful year! Together we developed service projects with local non-profits, organized fundraisers, and co-hosted a youth job fair with the 9-R school district. We are excited to recruit new members to continue our success into next school year!” commented Stella Potemkin, Co-Chair of the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Commission.
Applications can be submitted online at DurangoGov.org/boards. Nine positions are available for the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Commission and one position is available for each of the following boards or commissions through the Youth Engagement Program: Business Improvement District, Community Relations Commission, Creative Economy Commission, Durango - La Plata County Airport Commission, Durango Utilities Commission, Library Advisory Board, Multimodal Advisory Board, Natural Land Preservation Advisory Board, and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
