Badging Qualifications

All persons seeking unescorted access must be badged by the Durango - La Plata County Airport.

To qualify for an Airport Security Badge (SIDA, AOA (General Aviation), and Concessionaire), you must:

  • Be employed with an entity operating on Durango-La Plata County Airport grounds.
  • Have an aircraft based on the DRO airfield or own/lease/sublease hangar space.
  • Be an employee of a Federal, State or Local Agency operating at the  Durango-La Plata County Airport.


Badging FAQ

Two forms of current government-issued IDs are required, from the list of approved documents for I-9 verification.

Background checks usually take 5 to 14 business days.

Training is required for all badge holders.  Some driver training may be included.

Badges issued by DRO are valid for 2 years from the issued date printed on the badge.

Badges may be renewed up to 30 days before the expiration date.

Badge Application Forms

SIDA - Full access to secured and non-secured areas

AOA (GA)- Access to the GA ramps and areas around and including private hangars

STERILE - For Concessionaires, access to sterile areas (secure areas, but restricted to the terminal building)
